I've been thinking of the many consequences this health care bill will have upon not only the United States citizens, but on the foreign doctors as well who come here for the freedom of occupational focus. Think of all the hoops they have to jump for college or citizenship. I was thinking of how many were in the UNMC in Omaha, Nebraska, (University of Nebraska Medical Center), and the hard work they've had to achieve to get there. That hospital is one of the best in the country for cancer patients, my grandma is currently undergoing treatment there and is recovering. The staff is highly diversified, many doctors from foreign countries as well as many from around the country.
Obama has even said we have the best health care in the world... and we also have the greatest doctors in about all areas of medicine. Why do we need to revamp the whole system? Even Obama has admitted it's greatness, yet even we admit there are flaws in the system. But it's nothing that can't be improved.... NOT CHANGED!
So after the many townhall meetings and attacks on regular citizens by the government, I've been wondering what the views are of the doctors who have moved here from a system similiar or worse than what's presented in the bill. Would they appreciate an entire change in how they work and a salary cap given by the government? Will this decrease the initiative of those amazing doctors coming from foreign countries or even greatly decrease the number wanting to work here? How about all our doctors? How would they like to be told to limit their salary despite spending over a $100,000 and working years to obtain their medical occupation? Will a bureacrat's decision tug on the heart strings of a physician knowing full well they could fix a problem, but was told to deny care due to government rationing, waiting lists, or an end-of-life consultation? What about surgeries on foreign patients who fly from all over the world, or cancer patients expecting treatment? Maybe in 6 to 12 months we'll get you in. If this passes the Democrats will have destroyed the initiative of patients here and around the world expecting treatment, young students expecting a career of helping others in the medical field, those already working in the medical field, and medical advancement in all areas. Well done dems... avoid those working in the field you want to change.
